  2. As the alternative reviewer forked out, this is NOT the DisplayLink product. Why should we care? DisplayLink is apropos the “standard” for you do video over USB. This product, upon the alternative hand:

    a) Requires exclusive drivers from Lenovo. Period.

    b) NO LINUX SUPPORT from Lenovo

    c) Limited underline set relations to REAL DisplayLink hardware.

Also, compared to the _real_ advancing station, you’ll be unhappy with:

    d) 10/100 Ethernet (no gigabit)

    e) Does NOT energy laptop.

    f) No sequence port

    g) Audio out is upon the _front_… ugh?

As for the alternative facilities of this “dock”, all we tested worked excellent with Linux Ubuntu 10.04 (usb ports, audio, networking).

It looks nice, built well, as good as it functions good outward of arrangement as good as singular networking… though we paid for it for simply advancing to the outmost arrangement as well :(

I done a inapplicable designation of shopping this product meditative it had displaylink hardware inside, similar to a little alternative lenovo usb to video adapter. With this product, we do not have a choice to stagger a monitor, that was a dealbreaker for me given we longed for to operate dual mural oriented monitors with my laptop. we returned this product as well as got a kensington product with just a same facilities though this time, displaylink certified.

    Other problems with a lenovo:

    - Doesn’t go in to shade saver or energy save mode when a alternative monitors do.

    - Red colored content shows discoloration

    - Images uncover application artifacts

Didn’t have a same problems with a deputy displaylink product.
